If you've got writing group questions, I can help you out. Let's Chat!

Whether you're in a writing group already, or you're planning to start one, you want it to work in the best possible way, because your group, whatever kind it is, involves intentional and focused efforts to improve specific habits or skills or to build knowledge. In the ideal situation, your group enables repetitive practice, with feedback and reflection, so that you can achieve your writing goal.

But getting to that ideal state is not easy, and the path is fraught with bumps and hurdles, and people are people. That's why, if you're in the throes of writing-group challenges, I invite you to connect with me through Let's Chat or click on Say Hello for a writing group conversation.

We all know that starting a writing group is a big lift. (See my blog post.) Likewise, we also know existing writing groups can get into bad habits and lose focus. If either of these situations sound familiar, I know how easy it is to feel overwhelmed. But if you stay stuck, you'll lose out on writing group benefits and the writerly oomph that will boost your creative work. Because that's why you're doing this: For you to accomplish your creative work.

For instance, if your accountability group doesn't check in with each other, no one will get the benefit of mutual support and motivation. That's a shame, and I've been there. So, I can share some of my own challenges and solutions that helped the groups that I've been part of. Maybe one of my tips will fit your circumstances.

Or if you're nurturing a critique circle for some feedback, I'm happy to talk about what I've learned about giving and receiving feedback effectively. (And stay tuned! My new book is all about feedback and it's coming out later this year.) Again, my experiences might resonate with your situation.

So, contact me through Let's Chat or Say Hello if you want to discuss help for your writing group. I will answer you as quickly as possible.

The most important thing is that you have a team that supports and encourages you in your writing, and a good, functional writing group, whatever type it is, should help you on your way. And I'd love to be of assistance to you.
