I think of you as a member of my big, bold, extended writing group, and when I articulated my 2025 goals, I promised to share my monthly progress with you.
How has your progress gone this month? I've put one foot in front of the other, with productive days and not-so-productive days. Still, there are a couple of accomplishments and a lesson learned to share with you:
Read a Good Book
My new nonfiction ebook, From Draft to Craft: A New Writer's Guide to Feedback, is available for pre-order (as in, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, and Apple, to name a few) and publishes on July 1. If you're new to writing, and the thought of feedback on your work sounds scary, this is a must-read. It helps you approach the feedback process with the right mindset, identifies where to look for your feedback network, and explains the basics of giving and getting feedback. I've put everything I've learned into this book so that you can achieve your writing goals. (Click here to read my post about the book.)
BTW, subscribers to my blog will hear about a special opportunity to get a free copy. If you haven't signed up yet, sign up today.
Write a Good Ending
Thank you to everyone who shared their thoughts about what makes a good ghost-story ending! You rock! (You might remember from last month's update, I drafted a story with two separate endings and asked about your preferences.) Thanks to those of you who responded, I'm now polishing the story and will share with my subscribers as we get closer to Halloween. Stay tuned!
Learn a Good Lesson
What did I learn in June? Keep writing. While I didn't reach the targets I aimed for, I made progress. I hope you did, too. Let me know in the comments.
P.S.: Dream Walkers: Heart & Hand continues to roll out! This paranormal romance (slow burn, with a little spice) is a fun minibook project and I love every comment, message and vote! If the genre appeals, please give it a whirl.
