Hey writer fam! September is a great time to recommit to your writing. And what better way to refresh your goal than with a writing group that will help you cross your finish line by the end of the year?
So, if you're looking for a writing group to share your love for words and stories, or to achieve your authorpreneurial goal, I have some recommendations for you.
In a post earlier this year, I suggested some places for online groups. Depending on your writing goals, online groups offer a convenient way to connect with other writers and provide many benefits.
But what if your writing goals don't align with digital venues, or what if you're not comfortable with the online format and prefer getting together with writers in live sessions? 🤔
If that sounds like you, here are three tips to help you connect with other writers for live meetings:
📍 Local Libraries: Check out bulletin boards or ask the librarians for info on writing groups. Libraries often sponsor their own groups, but even if they don't, they may allow writing circles to use their facilities.
📅 Meetup or Eventbrite: Discover writing groups through these event-management sites. Just plug in your region, and see what pops up! Offerings change regularly, so if you don't find what you're looking for the first time, keep going back to see what's new.
📚 Conferences and workshops: Attend writing-related events, such as conferences, networking events, workshops, author events, or classes. You'll connect with other wordsmiths and some might be interested in forming a circle.
These are just a three ways to source a live group. I provide more ideas and tips in my ebook, The Write Group - which is available for pre-order now.
Whatever group you choose to connect with, I hope you use September to refresh and relaunch your writing creativity!
